EXPERT WORK

Holding experts’ sessions in participating museums

The goal is to carry out a pre-project research to define the key substantial characteristics of the museum objects, to identify problem areas and relevant contexts by expert surveys, SWOT analysis and other means.

Timetable:

19–20 April 2013  - Regional museum of Northern Priladozhye, Sortavala;

13-14 May 2013  - Medvezhyegorsk regional museum, Medvezhyegorsk;

15–16 June 2013 - Cultural museum center, Kostomuksha;

17 May 2013  - National museum of the Republic of Karelia, Petrozavodsk;

22–26 June 2013 - North Karelia Museum (Joensuu), Fighter’s House (Ilomantsi), Outokumpu Mining museum (visit).

Elaborating (or updating) development concept of participating museums

Based on results of the experts' sessions - the basic, common and special points of the development concepts for each participating museum, including its mission, goals and objectives, priorities, type, operating model, and first-priority projects will be developed.

 

Designing exhibition scenarios for participating museums

  • Three new theme sections built on hypertext principles in the present exhibitions in the museums in Sortavala, Kostomuksha and Medvezhyegorsk;
  • Hypertext markup elements and readers for the key exhibition sections and exhibits in participating museums.
